Health & safety & training
The very definition of Health & Safety
BFT leads the MCWP industry by example. Take the sector’s Code of Practice. We’re actively involved in creating this essential guidance for the installation, maintenance, testing and safe use of MCWPs. That means you’re always guaranteed the highest quality machines, checked to BFT’s demanding standards.
We have also recently invested £500,000 in our health and safety training centre at our Leighton Buzzard base. We have converted 1200 square metres of warehouse to provide a training facility and workshop for all members of staff.
We are so confident of our health and safety and training methods that we would invite prospective contractors and project leaders to come and visit our facility. We are proud of our safety record and are always happy to invite customers to our training centres so that you can get a first-hand account of our machinery, its safety and how our MCWPs are regularly maintained.
We stringently follow industry guidelines and all our staff are trained to the highest CITB and IPAF levels.
In our industry, a large number of callouts are often down to operator error. Giving our staff the best possible training is key to minimise callouts and ensure the health and safety measures we implement are strictly adhered to by every member of staff.
To ensure we meet health and safety standards, our certified training courses includes:
- IPAF Operator Training
- IPAF Demonstrator Training
- IPAF Installer Training
- IPAF Advanced Installer Training
- IPAF CAP (Competent Assessed Person)
As part of our training, all operators learn the most recent health and safety legislation, which includes standards, codes to design, supply, use and manage MCWPs and guidance.
At the end of every course, the trainee should be able to safely execute commands safely and be fully aware of the health and safety procedures in place for that specific machine.
We are already leaders in our industry for providing the largest number of mast climber training courses in the whole of the UK.
Our commitment to providing the best possible health and safety training to all staff is one of the key reasons why we enjoy the reputation we do as one of the best in the country in our industry.
The fact we have invested over £30million into our equipment and business since 2015 tells you everything you need to know about the importance of health and safety training to BFT.
We are committed to always reinvesting money into our machinery to ensure the highest health and safety standards are met. We are passionate about ensuring your project benefits from the highest spec machinery available.
